We are John and Chrissi, a married couple who have been taking care of dogs & cats professionally since 2018.
Now having cared for over 200 animals, we are:

- Fully Insured, for peace of mind

Our journey in animal care began in 2018 while volunteering at a dog sanctuary in Malaysia for 3 months. Here we cared for over 70 dogs and experienced the full spectrum of sizes, temperaments, breeds, and special needs.

That experience sparked a passion that we carried back to New York City, where our apartment's no pets policy lead us to dog walking and house sitting for others. This side hustle quickly turned into something much bigger, and for 3 years we ran a full blown dog walking & house sitting business, while our next apartment then turned into a 24-hour dog boarding house.

​​With over eight years of experience across the U.S. and abroad - and more than 100 five-star reviews - we launched The Pet Chaperone to bring a boutique, trustworthy approach to pet and housesitting. And without the headache of apps and middlemen, we can focus on what really matters: your pets.
